Aside from the blog, I have a whole bunch of stuff going on right now. I have just gone through the interview process for a promotion at work, while at the same time, taking on a chunk of my previous boss’s work on account of her leaving the company. Along with that, I have just been accepted into an on-line, part-time, Master of Holistic Nutrition program that will be starting in the next couple weeks. Then, on top of all that, I am trying to get prepared for the start of my amateur golf tour season. Busy, Busy, Busy. Unfortunately, this is why I have not been able to post as much here as I would like. However, I do have a great post in the works about dietary prevention of neurodegeneration, which will be followed up by a post on other lifestyle methods for the prevention of neurodegeneration; thus, finally wrapping up my series on this topic for now.
The Barefoot Golfer Anniversary
With all that going on right now, I very much hope it does not continue to limit my ability to post on a consistent basis. I really enjoy the research and writing I have been doing, and hopefully it has helped some people out either on the golf course or trying to get healthy. This brings me to my topic of the day. This month marks the 1 year anniversary of The Barefoot Golfer. I think I have come along way from my first post, and looking back, I think I am well on my way to meeting the goals I gave myself when I started The Barefoot Golfer.
The Blog has been much more successful than I had originally anticipated given the information out there about how long it takes to begin to generate some solid traffic. While the blog may not be considered to generate “solid” traffic yet, it is well on it’s way, and I couldn’t be happier. I am actually quite proud of myself for getting this far, and I have no intention of stopping now. Looking back at most of my life to date, starting a blog is not something I ever would have dreamed of doing. It just goes to show you that you never know where life will take you. Just go with the flow, take the opportunities that present themselves, and maybe make a few opportunities of your own. I don’t know where this blog will go in the future, but I do know that it will create some kind of opportunity for me, whatever that may be. Like many wise people say, be an example for others by doing what you love and believing in yourself.
The Barefoot Golfer – Thank You!
This wouldn’t be a proper anniversary post without looking back on how I got to this point. Ultimately, I likely never would have pulled the trigger and started The Barefoot Golfer without the support of my wonderful wife. She knew well before I did that this project would be something that would make me happy. She continued to push me (in her wonderfully nice way), to stop procrastinating and just start the darn thing already. So, I bought a book on blogging tips and I was on my way. Thanks Love!
I also want to thank those of you that return here frequently to read my views on things from Coffee to Golf Swing Thoughts. On the surface all these topics may not be related, but in my sometimes strange brain, they fit just perfectly together. Whether you get that or not, thanks for reading.
