Well, today I’m 30 years old. I have been on this planet, in the flesh, now for 30 whole years. Wow! I have done a lot, and still plan to do a whole lot more. I think a birthday in and of itself should be pretty darn motivating, not to mention turning the big 30, and since my birthday falls on a Monday, it is my Monday motivation.
In the end, age is just a number right! If you treat your mind and body correctly you will always feel young, you just simply get wiser. Although that doesn’t mean more mature 🙂 Immaturity is fun and silly, and a great way to get in a good laugh. Since going paleo and beginning to do some real weight lifting and sprinting again I am arguably pretty much in the best shape of my life. I mean when I was playing b-ball 5 days/week in grade 9 and 10 I could last a bit longer on a court than I can now, but back then I was seriously lacking in other areas of fitness and health. So, in the end, at 30, I am stoked with where I’m at.
Although I didn’t complete my 30 before 30 list, I have still accomplished a good amount in my 30 years, and I have a very, very long time left ahead of me to complete the things I still want to do. They also say that 30 is the prime of your golf career, so bring it on baby! 30 is just the beginning!
I found some great quotes today also for your consideration when thinking about your age, with some little comments of my own thrown in there. No matter what your age is you may find something here that resonates with you:
“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years”
So live that life and live it well. No regrets, take chances, do what you think is right, follow your heart, and use your mind to achieve your dreams.
“Age is not measured by years. Nature does not equally distribute energy. Some people are born old and tired while others are going strong at seventy”
Don’t grow old, be strong, be healthy, be youthful. It doesn’t matter how old you are, it’s never to late to start!
“At twenty years of age, the will reigns; at thirty, the wit; and at forty, the judgement.”
That is exciting, looks like I have a whole lot to look forward to and be excited about. Geeze, I am pretty witty so who knows where that is going to get me 🙂
“Everything I know I learned after I was thirty”
Hell yes! I am even more excited now. Lucky people who are already older than 30, they must be super smart, and hopefully they embrace it.
“The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate”
This one strikes gold! In the end, it does not matter where you are or what you have achieved in your life. Even if you gave up on your dreams, or things just aren’t going right for you, if you can find the ability to be absolutely grateful for your life and what it involves right now, you will inevitably begin to move in the direction of your heart! I have no doubt about this. My dreams have just begun, in fact, I have not even really thought about dreaming and imagining where I wanted to be until I met my wife about 11 years ago! I never had much self motivation or dreamed on what I wanted to do or become, but her ability to dream helped me and motivated me to start this journey for myself as well. Some of my dreams at this time have manifested into this blog, and beginning to play competitive amateur golf that will hopefully progress to some type of professional golf. There are more, and hopefully my will and my wit will take me where I want to be.
Even though I was working on my birthday, my Monday was a good one! I wish you all many, happy and motivating birthdays, you deserve it!
